The CFS February 1st meeting did not happen. The firemen were out on a call when we arrived. After a wait, they did not return so we left the scene. We did have time for individual discussions while we waited but our program for the evening will be carried over to the March meeting.
Chris Ross will be presenting details on “Executive Sessions” and we will be VIDEOING his presentation. At almost every council meeting an Executive Session takes place. Why? What are they discussing? Chris will discuss this area in detail.
In our January meeting it was noted that videos may be a way to inform more people in the city. Not just some of our presentations (Note: videos will be limited to 30 minutes without questions) but other events in the city would be good material for educating more Sammamish citizens as well. The hope is that better informed citizens may take a bigger interest in city matters and prove to enlarge the voter turnout as well. The city does not feel inclined to put these videos on channel 21 at this time, so we will put them out on YouTube. We will then disseminate the link to the video and viewing can then be at citizen convenience. This is just a “trial” and time will tell if we continue with same.
